He received three standing ovations, but his outing for Baltimore was no better than his final performances for New York. Harvey allowed Kevin Pillar’s two-run triple in a three-run second inning that carried New York over the Orioles on Wednesday for a seven-game winning streak.

Reds 5, Pirates 1, 10

Pittsburgh: Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suárez combined to drive in four runs in the 10th inning as Cincinnati’s bullpen threw 5 1/3 hitless innings, and the Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Winker singled off reliever Duane Underwood Jr. (1-2) to lead off the 10th, scoring designated runner Nick Senzel.

Indians 2, Cubs 1, 10

Cleveland: Amed Rosario’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the 10th inning gave the Cleveland Indians a win over the Chicago Cubs.

Houston: osé Altuve and Yuli Gurriel homered early as the Houston Astros hit a season-high five long balls Wednesday night in a win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Rookie Andrew Vaughn hit his first career home run, Yasmani Grandal connected for the second straight day and the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins.

Torres out as precaution

St. Petersburg, Fla.: New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres was kept out of Wednesday night’s starting lineup at Tampa Bay as a precaution as the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 tests among the team’s coaching and support staff reached seven.

Braves’ Soroka has setback, to have second Achilles surgery

Atlanta: Atlanta Braves righthander Mike Soroka has experienced a setback in his recovery from surgery to repair his torn right Achilles tendon and will have a follow-up procedure next week.

Soroka was the Braves’ opening day starter in 2020. He suffered the season-ending injury against the New York Mets on Aug. 3.

Astros to provide furnished housing to minor leaguers

The Houston Astros are providing furnished apartments to minor league players at all levels for the 2022 season, believed to be the first big league club to do so.

Players with the Triple-a Sugar Land Skeeters, Double-a Corpus Christi Hooks, High-a Fayetteville Woodpeckers, Low-a Asheville Tourists and the franchise’s Gulf Coast League team were offered housing ahead of last week’s opening day, the Astros said Wednesday, confirming a report by The Athletic.
