PIERRETTE GOODHUE

September 24, 1949 April 3, 2020

Pierrette Rollande (Leveille) Goodhue, 70, passed away April 3, 2020 at Parker Adventist Hospital from complications of a brain aneurysm. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Gaston and Rita (Grandmaitre) Leveille. Her family moved to Colorado Springs in 1957 as her father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force as aide to the Air Marshal. ‘Pete’, as she was so affectionately called, went to Pauline Memorial School and Cheyenne Mountain Jr/ Sr High School, graduating in 1967. She received her BA from SCSC (now Csu-pueblo) in 1971 in Elementary Education. While putting herself through college, she worked part-time for Mountain Bell. After finishing her degree, she decided to make a career in the telephone business, working for 42 years and retiring in 2009 from Qwest.

Pete met her husband Edmund (Ed) at college in 1970; they married in 1972 and celebrated their 47th anniversary in August 2019. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and celebrated her 70th birthday in September 2019. It was a great milestone! She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother and grandmother. Pete was an amazing cook and enjoyed hosting/attending any party she could find. She also enjoyed playing softball and golf as well as attending many Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Avalanche games. Pete also spent many hours volunteering at both the St. Paul Catholic School and Church, coaching several sports, enlivening the talent shows, serving as PTO co-president, helping with funeral preparation, holiday decorations and volunteering at the soup kitchen. However, her greatest enjoyment was being with her grandchildren, Ella, Grace, and Liam. Watching them grow up, attending their school and sports activities and just being a grandmother, maybe spoiling them along the way. Pete is survived by her husband Edmund (Ed), her daughter Elizabeth (Bret) Banwart, grandchildren Ella Rosemary, Grace Clara, Liam Johnathan, sister Lise (Serge-deceased) Sauve, brother Rev. Andre Leveille, brother Denis (Patricia) Leveille, sister Micheline (Scott) Simpson, and brother Charles (Shirley) Leveille along with many nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. Memorial donations can be made to the Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, especially the Marian House, where she helped prepare meals for the homeless once a week for several years. Please join us for a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 31st at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road. A rosary service will begin at 10:30am prior to Mass. A reception will be held following the Mass in the Julie Penrose Hall attached to the church around 12:15pm.
