John Barry sent this photo of a bear in a tree in the Cheyenne Mountain area and wrote: “It is that time of the year.” It certainly is, no matter where you are, as Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials are asking residents to remove bear attractants to reduce potential conflicts and interactions as more bears enter hyperplasia, a period in which bears prepare for hibernation by hunting for food for up to 20 hours per day.
