SYLVIA MONTARONE

July 17, 1932 May 22, 2022

Sylvia Annette (Ouellette) Montarone, 89, loving mother and devoted wife, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2022. She is survived by her five daughters, Donna Montarone, Sharon Bookman (Gary), Linda Jaron (Thomas), Sheila Follett (Paul), and Laura Creech (Samuel), twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband John predeceased her after 63 years of marriage. Sylvia was born in Nashua, NH on July 17, 1932. She spent her childhood in Portsmouth, NH. She graduated from nursing school and married the love of her life, John, in Fontainebleau, France, in 1954. Sylvia was a devoted mother and military wife. She stood steadfast in her support of John’s career and made every military move seamless for her family - a total of nine moves over 19 years. John retired from the Air Force in 1973, and the family moved to Colorado Springs. Sylvia and her husband sacrificed whatever was necessary to support their children in all their endeavors, attending every concert, activity and sporting event. Sylvia was also a devoted volunteer serving as a room mother, religious educator, girl scout volunteer, and caregiver to her grandchildren. Sylvia and John spent their retired years traveling all over the country visiting their children, grandchildren, and other extended family. Sylvia’s love was bottomless and unconditional, and she will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Services will be held Wednesday, June 1st at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Mass at 11 am followed by a reception. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.
