DR. ERIC ALAN WULFSBERG

Eric Wulfsberg, age 76, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at his home in Colorado Springs.

Eric was born on November 17, 1945, in Denver, Colorado to the late Einar Theodore and Lillian Marie (Heggem) Wulfsberg. HS graduation was in 1964; he graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1968.

He graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1972 and was awarded membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha (Honor Medical Society). Pediatric internship was at Hopkins, and Pediatric Residency was at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth,va. In 1982, he completed a twoyear fellowship program in Pediatric Genetics at UCLA School of Medicine.

Eric married Sarah Prowse on August 28, 1971, in Baltimore. Navy duty stations were: Naval Hospital Long Beach, CA; Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan; Naval Hospital San Diego and National Medical Center Bethesda, Maryland, retiring as a USN Captain. He spent twelve years at UM School of Medicine, Division of Human Genetics.

In 1982, he and Sarah had their son, Einar John Wulfsberg. Throughout his life he enjoyed photography, had many other hobbies and volunteered at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Eric was a man of faith and family. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; his son, LTC Einar John (and wife, Nikohl) Wulfsberg US Army and their two sons, Henrik and Soren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Einar John (and Lone) Wulfsberg of Castle Rock, Colorado; Karen (and Ernest Scott) Wulfsberg Strother of Nathrop, Colorado; and Bruce Warren (and Cyndy) Wulfsberg of Michigan. He is also survived by Sarah’s brother, Bill (and Janet) Prowse of Mccall, Idaho and a host of friends. Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, June 18, 2022, Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917. Reception, immediately following Memorial Service in the Christ Center at Bethel Lutheran Church. Memorials in Eric’s name may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church. Blessed be his memory. He is now eternally with Jesus, his Lord and Savior.
