WILSON

We mourn the passing but celebrate the life of Vincent L. Wilson, 73, of Pueblo West, CO. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and known as Uncle Cootie to his nieces and nephews. Vincent transitioned quietly on November 19, 2022, in his home surrounded by his wife, Brenda and children, Tim Wilson, toni Scales, and Aaron Hairston. Vincent was born on November 21, 1948, to Victor and Elizabeth Wilson. He was the youngest of ten siblings. He worked as a petroleum firefighter and petroleum technician on the western slopes of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska for 28 years. Vincent had an easygoing smile, quick wit, and the gift of easily engaging in conversation with people of all walks of life. He enjoyed telling stories of his adventures on the oil fields of Alaska and growing up in Daneville. Vincent retired from British Petroleum (BP) in 2009 and began a career as a coach driver for Rambling Express. It was a job he took immense joy in because it afforded him the opportunity of providing a service to the community and socialization. Vincent was a proud member of the Buffalo Soldiers 10th infantry in Colorado Springs and enjoyed reenactment of the regimen during the Civil War as well as educating the community of their contribution to the history of the United States. His light will shine forever in the heart he touched. In lieu of flowers and donations, please make contributions to Vincent’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. At Vincent’s request, no formal service to be held.
