Joseph Tafoya, also known as Chief Little Deer, poses in front of the Hidden Inn with a bow and arrow. A member of the Tewa Pueblo tribe, Tafoya spent more than 45 years dancing and entertaining visitors of the Cliff Dwellings Museum between 1919 and 1972. He served as governor of the Santa Clara Pueblo and chairman of all 19 Pueblos of New Mexico. This is printed on the front of the photo: “‘Jose Tafoya’ / Hidden Inn / Garden of the Gods.”
