IN 1922

Having completed a trip from Piqua, Ohio, in a motor hearse, L. A. Fairly of this city is an enthusiastic booster of cross-country travel by motor. Mr. Fairly made the journey from eastern Ohio in about nine days and reports that he was only held up once in one state on account of muddy roads.

IN 1947

Despite cold weather, more than 50 persons signed up Wednesday with Paul Kron, of Kron’s Sausage and Delicatessen, to buy meat at wholesale prices plus $1 a week. Kron advertised Tuesday in the Gazette Telegraph his plan to sell at wholesale plus $1 to members of a meat club. Each person receives a card, which is punched weekly upon payment of the $1, saving up to 30 percent.

IN 1972

A dozen war protestors were given letters of expulsion at the Air Force Academy after the latest in a series of disruptions of services at the cadet chapel. Academy officials said the group was distributing leaflets without permission and had disregarded requests to be seated while inside the chapel. Similar demonstrations landed eight persons in jail last week, including two Roman Catholic priests and a former cadet.
