Gender issues and CRT
Trust and understanding has been greatly diminished between parent and educators. Parents can’t trust an education system that does not explain what it is teaching. As a parent, none of the gender and critical race theory makes sense to me. I was taught that there were two genders but now there is a spectrum of over fifty which can be changed at will. Can a minor possibly know the implications of trying to change gender? What if he changes his mind? How is it ethical to not report a child’s dysphoria to his parents? Would not withholding this information lead a child into double life? How is parental notification considered “outing?” When the teacher is to respect the child’s new identity, using a new name and
pronouns, will none of his classmates notice? Will the classmates also have to lead double lives after school in order to keep the secret?
In regards to critical race theory, why are we disregarding Dr. King’s declaration that each person should be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin? What is this concept that if you’re not an anti-racist activist you are by default a racist? I do not believe my children are racists because they are white. I believe, as most Americans do, in colorblind society. Educators, the teachers union, and government bureaucrats need to explain these foreign concepts to parents or else there can be no trust.
