This week, a Fort Carson soldier pleaded guilty to two domestic violence charges, a weapons charge and making a false statement.
On Tuesday, a military judge sentenced Spc. Dylan Ballard to 270 days of confinement, a reduction in rank down to private and bad-conduct discharge, according a statement from Fort Carson. The sentence was consistent with the terms of a plea agreement.
The soldier faced accusations of destroying a vehicle’s backup camera and slashing a vehicle’s tire to intimidate an intimate partner during October 2021, Army documents stated. In February 2022, he lied about whether he had damaged the vehicle.
Ballard also faced charges of carrying a concealed handgun to intimidate a partner in January 2022.
He enlisted in September 2019.
