Two separate shootings in Colorado Springs on Sunday left one person injured and another dead, according to police.

Just before 3 a.m., police received reports of a shooting in the 3200 block of Divine Heights, near the intersection of Powers Boulevard and South Carefree Circle.

Officers responded to an apartment and located a deceased male on scene, police said.

While every individual involved has been “accounted for,” no arrests have been made in the shooting, officials said. Police have not released the identity of the deceased male.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact police at 719-444-7000 or, to remain anonymous, the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 719-634-7867 or 1-800-2228477.

On Sunday just before 11 p.m., officers responded to a second shooting in the 2800 block of South Circle Drive, just east of the roadway’s intersection with Interstate 25.

One adult male had been shot in the leg and told officers that the shooting had occurred at a different location, police said. The victim reported he had been shot with a “silver AK rifle,” according to police.

The victim was then taken to a hospital, and the extent of his injuries is unknown.

No suspect was arrested, but there is “no apparent risk” to the public, officials said.
