IN 1922
Marriages are all right and Rev. T. C. Collister has no objection – at least he hadn’t until yesterday morning when there came a ring at the doorbell of his home. Getting into a wrapper, Dr. Collister glanced at his watch to see it was 2:30 a.m., and opened the door far enough to admit Miss Olive Winchell and Orville Lee Spencer. The ceremony was performed in the wee small hours of the morning.
IN 1947
When people insist on setting up an overnight automobile camping place in North Cheyenne canon, C.C. Howe, caretaker of the canon, objects. The other night when he objected, a would-be camper drew a .45 caliber revolver and defied Howe to do anything about it. The motorist eventually departed.
IN 1972
Six soldiers won over $900 at Fort Carson this week during the quarterly Mechanics’ and Drivers’ Rodeo. Categories included driving light and heavy track and wheeled vehicles and mechanical skills for track and wheeled units. First place winners receiving $100 and a trophy were Spc. 4 J. M. Allen, Sec. 4 S. M. Eggers, Spc. 5 D. R. Shyrock, Staff Sgt. E. Yelladawy and Sgt. E. E. Killian.
