IN 1923

Reid H. Ray, from the home office of the Modern Woodmen of America at Rockland, Ill., with John T. Davis, chief of the motion picture department, took pictures of the Woodmen home and the Pikes Peak region yesterday from an airplane. More than 3,000 feet of film was used. The pictures made yesterday of the Pikes Peak region are the first to be taken from the air here for national exhibition.

IN 1948

Winners in the Community Chest poster contest were announced by Robert Wardwell, chairman of the contest. The winners are: North Junior - Earnestine Bragg; West Junior - Walter Peterson; South Junior - Paula Gordon and Nelda Williams; Senior High - Don Green. The posters, which have been exhibited at the Fine Arts Center, will be placed in downtown business houses soon. The contest was supervised by art teachers under Charles Beals.

IN 1973

The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, will present a four-part seminar on Community Problems. Four panels of experts, civil servants and elected officials will examine issues of local concern: land use policies, the energy crisis and traffic and transportation.
