Lauren Boebert used campaign funds to buy tickets to boyfriend’s bike race

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., used campaign funds to buy tickets to a bike race her boyfriend was competing in.

Images of Federal Election Commission filings obtained by the Daily Mail showed that Boebert withdrew $339.94 in campaign funds for “event tickets,” which she spent on tickets to attend the Leadville Trail 100 MTB bike race on Aug. 12, where her then-secret boyfriend Quinn Gallagher, 46, was competing. The event was roughly a month before an infamous outing where the two were kicked out of a Beetlejuice musical performance for rowdy conduct — the two were seen groping each other in security footage released to the public.

Gallagher finished in 774th place out of 1,788, with a time of 9 hours, 58 minutes, and 40 seconds. Boebert was seen in the corner of a picture of the event cheering on the racers.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Boebert for comment.

Boebert said her conduct at the “Beetlejuice” musical was simply an overly enthusiastic first date.

A Politico report in October found that she had spent hundreds in campaign cash at Gallagher’s drag-friendly bar in July.

The Colorado Republican finalized a divorce with her husband, with whom she has four children, in October.
