The Pike Forest is among four national forests in Colorado which have been designated as the free fuel wood use areas. Only dead wood for personal use, not resale purposes, may be taken from designated areas. So that fuel wood gatherers can make sure they are on national forest land, they may obtain National Forest maps at Building 85, Denver Federal Center, and at the Pikes Peak District Office, 320 W. Fillmore St.
