UNC soccer earns outright Big Sky regular-season title after win over Idaho State
For the first time since joining the Big Sky in 2006, the University of Northern Colorado won the regular-season title outright after defeating Idaho State on Tuesday. UNC (10-7-2, 8-1-0 Big Sky) recorded a five-goal second half to beat Idaho State (2-16-1, 2-7-0 Big Sky), 7-2, at home.
The Bears haven’t won the regular season since 2011, when they shared the distinction with Portland State, nor have they scored seven goals in one game since 2002.
“We wanted to take first and go into the tournament being the first seed,” senior forward Lexi Pulley said.
