When talking Wednesday about quarterback Russell Wilson’s wife Ciara giving birth to a girl, Payton made a quip about the wife of guard Ben Powers also having giving birth this week to a girl.

“Ben doesn’t have 2.8 million followers (on social media), though, so less people know about Ben’s baby,’’ Payton said.

Powers said Thursday he heard what Payton had said.

“I thought it was funny,’’ Power said. “I laughed. I don’t have as many followers (as Wilson) but I’m getting there.”

Wilson actually has about 5.5 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter. Powers has about 10,600 followers.

Powers said his wife Jayce gave birth to the couple’s first child at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and it was a thrilling moment.
