Hunter, Blackburn meet for bowling

Travis Hunter and Henry Blackburn have officially put the Rocky Mountain Showdown behind them.

The two met up on Wednesday night to go bowling, a Colorado State spokesperson confirmed, for an upcoming video that will appear on Hunter’s Youtube page that currently has over 250,000 subscribers.

Images initially emerged on social media via the Instagram story of CSU defensive lineman James Mitchell, which show ed

A hit in the first quarter of the Sept. 16 game by Blackburn, a senior safety for the Rams, injured Colorado star Travis Hunter and caused him to leave the game and go to a local hospital where he was treated for a lacerated liver. Hunter missed last week’s game against Oregon and will also miss this week’s game against USC.

Blackburn, a Boulder native, was flagged for the hit and given a 15-yard, unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and he, along with members of his family, allegedly received death threats after his cell phone number and address were posted online.

People on both sides have condemned the online vitriol toward Blackburn, with Buffs coach Deion Sanders saying last week: “He made a tremendous hit on Travis on the sideline — you can call it dirty, you can call it ‘ He was just playing football’ — but whatever it was, it does not constitute that he should be receiving death threats.”

Even Hunter tried to diffuse the situation in the aftermath, saying on his weekly Bleacher Report live stream, “it’s football at the end of the day.”

Hunter and Blackburn got in contact through Rams cornerback Ron Hardge III and Buffs wide receiver Isaiah Hardge, who are brothers.

CU looks to bounce back without Hunter this week as No. 8 USC comes to town for a nationally-televised game at 10 a.m. (Fox).

Blackburn and the Rams are back home for the first time in a few weeks as they conclude nonconference play with a game against Utah Tech at 5 p.m. in Fort Collins.
