COLORADO 14, L.A. DODGERS 5
WHAT HAPPENED: The Rockies captured their most lopsided win over the Dodgers since Aug. 3, 2016 to split the four-game series. It was Colorado’s second win in three days over Los Angeles after coming into the series 1-9 against the division leader.
AT THE PLATE: Charlie Blackmon led the Rockies’ offensive outburst with three hits, including a homer, two doubles and a pair of runs driven in. Sean Bouchard also homered. It was his first time with home runs in back-to-back games. Elehuris Montero hit his ninth home run. Every starter for the Rockies had a hit and they put up 18 hits for the first time since July 13, 2022.
ON THE MOUND: Chris Flexen allowed three earned runs in his first two innings before settling down to log a quality start. He went six innings and did not allow a run after the second inning. Jake Bird allowed an earned run in his inning of work. Brent Suter struck out a pair in a scoreless inning.
WHAT’S NEXT: Minnesota Twins (RHP Joe Ryan, 11-10) at Colorado Rockies (LHP Ty Blach, 3-3) at 6:10 p.m. Friday at Coors Field (AT&T Sportsnet).
