DR. JOSEPH L. CORRIGAN

Dr. Joseph L. Corrigan passed away at home with his family on December 2nd, 2023 after struggling with heart failure for the last several years. He was born to William and Margaret Corrigan in Cape Girardeau, MO in 1946. Joe was raised in Sikeston, MO, and attended Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie Du Chien, WI. He then went on to college at Saint Louis University and then to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. During medical school he married Mary Yochem, his wife of 44 years. He served his country in the US Army at Fort Leonard Wood for several years before moving to Colorado Springs with his young family.

Dr. Corrigan practiced pediatrics in Colorado Springs for 42 years. He cared for thousands of Colorado Springs’ babies and children over his career before retiring six years ago. He is survived by his three sons, Kevin of Colorado Springs, David (Mary Jo) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Brian (Heather) of Denver. He has four grandsons, Jameson and Gavin of St. Louis, and Collin and Grant of Colorado Springs and two granddaughters, Jojo & Wren of Denver. He is also survived by four siblings, Bill (Jane) Corrigan of Colorado Springs, John Corrigan of Florida, Sheila (Sal) Defazio of Wellesley, MA, and Anne Corrigan of St. Louis, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, and his brother Daniel F. Corrigan.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (1830 S. Corona Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80905) at 10:00 a.m. Fri., December 15, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the Corrigan boys would like to go helicopter skiing…. in lieu of helicopter skiing, contributions can also be made to Pikes Peak Hospice (www.pikespeakhospice.org) in Joe’s name.
