GOAL High School: Leading the Change In Education

The end of a school year can be a lot like a colorful Colorado sunset — that beautiful feeling of accomplishment; students graduating to the next chapter of life; staff and students breathing a sigh of relief at the thought of a well-deserved rest. The new school year should be much like the dawning of a new sunrise — with new hope for the future.

Unfortunately, clouds of doubt have altered the educational landscape.

Social Anxiety. Pandemic Fear. Safety Concerns. Homelessness. Teen parenthood. Bullying. Boredom. Loss of a Loved One.

These are just a few of the many reasons students sometimes find it difficult to attend and graduate from a traditional brick-and-mortar high school; but, that doesn’t mean a high school degree is impossible.

GOAL High School, founded in 1997, has pioneered and perfected the art of utilizing online curriculum along with the opportunity for in-person instruction and support. 37 student drop-in centers, including a dozen in Colorado Springs and Denver. Clearly, the model works as GOAL is successfully graduating close to 1,000 students each year.

Relaxed. Comfortable. Welcoming. Safe. Personalized.

These are just a few words used to describe the student drop-in centers that set

GOAL apart from other public schools. Students can come in daily from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday or they can work entirely from home if that is their preference.

GOAL is a Colorado Department of Education PERFORMANCE rated high school; a Microsoft Showcase School, allows for students to take part in sports and activities at their local high schools; pays for college coursework; and even offers rich musical and field trip opportunities.
