The fourth and final outing for as veteran mercenary Barney Ross in this action-thriller franchise is finally being released under the title Reuniting with Stallone as part of the team of elite mercenaries are Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture, who will be joined for the first time by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox and Andy Garcia.
Garcia will be playing a CIA operative named Marsh, the man in charge of gathering the and setting them off on their missions. “He is part of the Expendables in a sense, but he is the one orchestrating who goes where and why,” Garcia, 67, says. “American audiences have movies like
and . You know, the idea that you have one person that gathers a group of experts in their fields—different fields—and they go out and right the wrong. That’s a proven formula. That formula will be used forever because it works.”
The new team members will have their own styles and tactics, which will give “new blood” a whole new meaning, but at the end of the day, The Expendables are still the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table.
“Sly was great. He was very funny, and he’s a great writer and a very great actor,” says Garcia, who is pairing with the and star for the first time. “I had worked with Megan before. I didn’t know Dolph or 50 Cent, or any of the other actors, but it was very easygoing. These are all good people, nice people, professional and, you know, we’re all here to have some fun.”
